About
I came to Yayasan Bali Purnati with the goal of meeting and interviewing artists all over Bali so that I could return home to California to write about them. I wanted to do this to expose more Americans and more of my art history students to contemporary artists practicing in Bali, and to help grow a wider audience for each artist. I am an art lover more than an art critic, so I really enjoyed getting to immerse myself in the arts here.
Both the loving staff and the grounds of Yayasan Bali Purnati provided me with such a nurturing environment in which to write, grow, and explore. I am so thankful to everyone at Yayasan Bali Purnati in addition to everyone at the Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles, who made the 2014 grant and vision a reality.

WORK
My month as a resident at Yayasan Bali Purnati in both 2014 was an amazingly enriching experience for me. Spending days visiting museums, galleries, and studios to see art and interview artists, while also getting to spend time writing and enjoying the serenity and beauty of Yayasan Purnati was simply heaven.
